3 Ways to Make More Money on Your Website

Hey Girl Boss,

Here’s the thing — you don’t always need a flood of new visitors to increase your sales.
You can have a small audience and still make big money if your site is set up right.

These three moves will help you make the most of the traffic you already have, and they’re super simple to start doing today.

1. Build an Email List (and Actually Email Them)

If you’re not collecting emails, you’re literally letting potential sales walk right out the door.
Social media is great for visibility, but you don’t own that audience. An email list? That’s yours — you can reach them anytime without paying for ads.

And let’s be real — pop-ups aren’t annoying when they’re giving people something they actually want: a freebie, a discount code, or exclusive content.

Once they join your list, you can keep in touch, give value, and yes, eventually sell — but the key is to make it feel like you’re helping, not hustling.

Quick Tips:

  • Place your opt-in in at least three spots (pop-up, footer, and homepage).
  • Keep your form short — name + email is enough.
  • Send a welcome email with value before you sell. I like to give more value than sell, because the law of reciprocity kicks in — when you help people first, they naturally want to support you. Personally, just selling doesn’t get email opens, but helping them does.

2. Add Social Proof Everywhere

Here’s the truth — people don’t always buy from the “best” option. They buy from the option that feels safest. And nothing makes people feel safe faster than social proof.

That’s why testimonials, before/after transformations, client logos, and screenshots of happy customer messages are gold. They show your stuff actually works.

The mistake I see most people make? They hide their proof on one lonely “Testimonials” page. Nope. Sprinkle that proof everywhere so people see it while they’re deciding to buy.

Quick Tips:

  • Put a testimonial or result right next to your “buy” or “book” buttons.
  • Add client logos or “as seen on” badges to your homepage.
  • Keep testimonials short and focused on results. “Booked 5 clients in 10 days” beats “She was nice to work with” any day.

3. Make Your Site Mobile-Friendly

Most of your visitors are coming from their phone — so if your site looks janky on mobile, you’re losing sales before they even scroll.

This is one of the reasons I love designing on Showit. Showit lets you edit your desktop and mobile layouts separately, so you can make sure your site looks perfect on both. No more hoping the auto-mobile version gets it right — you’re in full control.

I’ll even show a visual of this in action so you can see how easy it is.

If you’re not on Showit yet, you can try it free for 30 days with my affiliate link here.

Quick Tips:

  • Check your site on your phone — is your main headline and button visible without scrolling?
  • Make your fonts and buttons big enough to tap easily (no tiny text or microscopic buttons).
  • Keep your most important CTA “above the fold” so they see it right away.

Final Thoughts
You don’t need a total website overhaul to see more sales. Start with these three moves — build your list, show proof, and make it easy on mobile — and watch your site start pulling its weight.
